Welcome to the Perth Osteoporosis research hub

The bank of bone mineral density! As we endeavour to help the large community an improve our services through clinical translational research, information from individual cases is significantly important to our growth. We strictly keep everyones personal data and information secure and private as per our privacy policy.

We are currently investigating osteoporosis and other health comorbities. 

In particular, we are interested in;

1) the various chronic diseases that are highly prevalent among Australian and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples that also are comorbid with osteoporosis
2)  NCHA databases -  to investigate fracture prevalence, hospital stays, types of fractures

3) using data from SIMBA (Monash and Kalgoorlie and comparing to ref population) - reporting DXA and pQCT bone outcomes. Also the effects of comorbidities and blood work investigations.

4) using data from SIMBA (Monash and Kalgoorlie) and making comparisons between reference populations - understanding how body composition affects bone health, sarcopenia, physical activity, muscle strength.

This information is used by Perth Osteoporosis Clinic for clinic improvements, direction of healthcare and guidance for treatments and for potential research topics. Please note, there is no obligation to complete this survey. Your time and feedback is extremely important to us.
